Arrow keys draw. Typing writes. Boxes hold whatever you put in them. A notepad for keeping up with a lecturer who never stops moving.
The cursor sits on a grid and trails a line behind it. Hold a key to run. Lines stay square, so a fast key-roll never smears into a diagonal.
Start typing anywhere and a label appears at the cursor. Click any word later to fix it in place.
Draw a rectangle and it becomes a box. Text inside wraps to its edges and the box grows to fit. Move the box and everything in it comes along.
